Sam Douglas is an Australian professional triathlete, para-triathlete guide and triathlon coach.
Following a stint overseas chasing the US Professional season, Sam returned back to Australia, finished his Bachelor of Education at the University of Sydney and settled in to Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs where he trains Sydney Triathlon Group out of Centennial Park. On top of his own busy schedule of racing and training himself and his team of 90 athletes, Sam also guides for elite para-triathlete Jonathan Goerlach who has his sight firmly set on representing Australia at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. The pair are a formidable team, recently placing 5th at the recent ITU World Championships and have qualified for NSW Institute of Sport scholarships to support the pair in reaching their goal.
Sam lives and breathes triathlon. Since crossing the finish line at Kona Ironman at age 2 (on his father’s shoulders) he has dreamed of doing it again and is passionate about helping others to reach their triathlon goals. Sam is a Triathlon Australia accredited Performance Coach and a qualified teacher who uses his combination of sporting knowledge and professional ability to train his athletes holistically.
